The Problem

Socks are the hardest- working thing you own.

Sealed inside a shoe, under pressure, through heat and friction, for every hour you're upright. Most are still made of plastic.
01

Plastic in a warm, closed space

Polyester and nylon don't breathe. Inside a shoe, heat and moisture have nowhere to go — and residues migrate more readily as the fabric warms against skin.
02

Damp by mid-afternoon

Synthetic fibre holds moisture against the foot instead of moving it. That's the clammy feeling at hour six, and the smell that follows it.
03

Slipping, bunching, thinning

Cheap knit slides down the heel, bunches under the arch and goes threadbare at the ball of the foot before the rest of the sock has aged at all.

Better Materials

Organic cotton, not plastic.

Every Allwear sock is knit from a 95% GOTS certified organic cotton blend, with 5% BPA-free elastane for hold. Grown without synthetic pesticides, finished without azo dyes, and tested for harmful substances before it ever reaches a foot. Natural fibre moves moisture out instead of trapping it — which is the whole difference between a sock that stays comfortable all day and one that doesn't.

Construction

Knit for the shape of an actual foot.

The same four-part construction runs through all three lengths — the cushioning and compression don't change when the cuff does.

01 Rear cushioning Denser knit through the heel, where impact lands and wear shows first.
02 Forefoot cushioning Padding across the ball of the foot for the hours you spend standing.
03 Arch compression A band of tension through the midfoot so the sock holds its place instead of bunching.
04 No-slip finish A ribbed cuff, ankle band or heel grip depending on length — each stops the slide.
The Clean Standard™

Independently certified,
not self-reported.

The crew socks feel soft and supportive on long days. The cushion underfoot is what I noticed first.

Questions

Before you pick a length.

The things people ask most before their first bundle.

Which length should I start with?

Crew if you mostly wear boots or trainers and want coverage. Ankle for everyday shoes where you want a little sock showing. No show for loafers, flats and anything you'd rather look sockless in.

How do the sizes work?

Three sizes across all lengths. S fits men's small and women's medium, M fits men's medium and women's large, L fits men's large and women's XL. Full conversions sit on each product page.

Will cotton socks stretch out?

The 5% BPA-free elastane recovers its shape, and the arch compression band holds through the day. Cotton softens with washing rather than losing structure.

Can I mix lengths in one bundle?

Bundles are built per length — a crew 3 pack is three crew socks. To mix lengths, add more than one bundle to the bag.

What does GOTS certified actually mean?

The Global Organic Textile Standard audits the whole chain, not just the fibre — growing, processing, dyeing and finishing. It's why we can say no synthetic pesticide residue and no toxic azo dyes rather than just implying it.
